Our region’s long-term economic success depends on our ability to grow the skills of our workforce. Despite our strong assets, employers are struggling to find skilled workers, while far too many of our residents are unable to secure jobs that provide economic security for themselves and their families.

The Milwaukee Area Workforce Funding Alliance is a consortium of private and public funders of workforce development (including education, job training and placement, and support services) dedicated to increased employment that benefits both businesses that need skilled workers and individuals seeking good jobs with family-supporting wages.

Our goals are to:

•  Fund agencies, programs and projects that provide career

advancement support of low-income and low skilled people

•  Develop a better coordinated workforce development system of
public and private collaboration that enhances regional
   competitiveness

Milwaukee Area Workforce Funding Alliance is convened by the Donors Forum of Wisconsin. It was established under the leadership of the Helen Bader Foundation. We are one of 31 sites of the National Fund For Workforce Solutions.
